Colin M. Hawkins was a student at theUniversity of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C., 1864-1866. The collection consists of 15 carte de visite photographs, eleven of which showstudents at the University of North Carolina. They are mostly from 1866. There are also 15 copy negatives. Thestudents are wearing lapel pins that appear to be from the Chi Phi Fraternity. Fourof the photographs are unidentified. The identified individuals include Colin M.Hawkins, Alonzo Phillips, Thomas Henderson Pritchard, and Edmund Jones. Thephotographs may have originally been part of an album belonging to Hawkins.
